The Minister of National Unity, Oleksiy Chernyshov, announced Ukraine's readiness to offer employment in defense enterprises with mobilization deferment for conscripts currently abroad. The minister shared this information in a comment for "Radio Liberty" on Wednesday, January 8.
According to Oleksiy Chernyshov, there is currently a shortage of personnel in Ukraine's defense enterprises. To address this issue, the country is prepared to offer jobs to Ukrainians abroad and provide them with mobilization deferment.
“Today, Ukraine and several industries are in dire need of specialists. This includes the defense sector, the military-industrial complex, and other fields. We are experiencing a shortage of professionals and specialists, and most of them will be granted deferment from military service,” stated Oleksiy Chernyshov.
To facilitate this, centers will be established in Ukraine and other countries where Ukrainians are currently located, offering such job vacancies and encouraging individuals to pursue professional opportunities in Ukraine.
“I am confident that Ukrainian men desire this; they want to contribute. If they are not inclined to continue in a military capacity, they can present themselves as specialists – and there is a specific mechanism in place for this that should simply be utilized,” said Oleksiy Chernyshov.
At the same time, the Minister of Unity noted that “men primarily need to protect Ukraine at this moment.”
Recall that on December 23, 2024, Oleksiy Chernyshov stated that 50% of Ukrainians of conscription age are willing to return to Ukraine before the war ends. According to the minister, this will require “resolving the issue of deferment.”
