The Russian Federation is preparing to announce a "victory" in the war against Ukraine on February 24, - GUR

In the Russian Federation, preparations are underway to declare a "victory" in the war against Ukraine on the third anniversary of the full-scale invasion - February 24.

This information comes from the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine via social media platform Facebook.

"Russian propagandists have been instructed to promote 'victorious' narratives in anticipation of the invasion anniversary," the statement reads.

Specifically, the propagandist army and intelligence services of the aggressor state, Russia, have been directed by the Kremlin to intensify efforts to incite despair among the Ukrainian populace, destabilize the situation within our country, and discredit Ukraine among partner nations that provide critically important military assistance to our Security and Defense Forces in their fight against the occupiers.

In this context, among the key narratives of enemy information attacks, the following fictitious claims are being disseminated: "The West has betrayed Ukraine," "The opinions of Europeans and Ukrainians do not concern either Moscow or Washington," "The USA and Russia have made agreements behind Ukraine's back," "The Ukrainian government is illegitimate," "The Ukrainian army is losing on the front," "Corrupt individuals in Ukraine are stealing billions of dollars in American aid."

"Furthermore, Russia is preparing to announce an alleged 'victory' in the war against Ukraine on the 'round date' - February 24, 2025, marking the third anniversary of the start of the full-scale war. Moreover, these plans may also include a declaration of 'victory for Russia over NATO,' as Moscow's propaganda has long portrayed the war against Ukraine as a conflict with the Alliance," the statement continues.

At the same time, the intelligence services of the aggressor state, Russia, have been instructed by Kremlin leaders to fully utilize the activation of diplomatic efforts by the new American administration aimed at ending the Russian-Ukrainian war and the bilateral meeting of US and Russian delegations in Saudi Arabia on February 18, 2025, in their subversive information and psychological campaigns.

Additionally, one of the key goals of the new Kremlin propaganda strategies is to obscure the status of Russia as an aggressor and war criminal, isolated by the civilized world, by cloaking it as a supposedly constructive party ready for peaceful resolution of the conflict.

"In this regard, Russian intelligence services are attacking, in particular, Ukraine's partners in Europe, who are not withdrawing their support but are, on the contrary, increasing it for our state. For such European governments, the Kremlin employs the label 'enemies of peace,'" the statement concludes.
