The Rada has denied information regarding a reduction in the mobilization age in Ukraine in 2025

Member of Parliament Fedor Venislavsky reminded that President Volodymyr Zelensky has already stated that, as of today, the issue of lowering the mobilization age is not on the agenda.

This was his response to the words of an advisor from the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Economic Development, who suggested that in 2025, the mobilization age might be lowered to 18-20 years.

"In the war that Russia is currently waging against us, winning by increasing numbers is absurd. We must understand that only with modern weaponry capable of inflicting unacceptable damage to the Russian Federation can this war be concluded," Venislavsky explained to RBK-Ukraine.

Commenting on the timelines mentioned by Volyansky, the MP noted that there are currently no legislative initiatives regarding the reduction of the mobilization age. He added:

"Even if such thoughts arise in someone's mind, the procedural aspects make this a rather lengthy process."

Venislavsky believes that gaining support in parliament for lowering the mobilization age is "unlikely" for anyone. He assured that there are no discussions about reducing the mobilization age among members of the defense committee.

MP from the "Servant of the People" party, Dmitry Natalukha, also stated that no decision regarding the reduction of the mobilization age is planned to be made by either the Rada or the committee.

According to Natalukha, the relevant committee will raise the issue of stripping Volyansky of his advisor status.
