On February 17, the city of Mykolaiv bid farewell to Alexander Obukhovsky, a 45-year-old serviceman from the 79th Separate Air Assault Brigade. He lost his life in an accident while heading to receive military equipment.

This was reported by “Suspilne.”

Since the onset of the full-scale war, he fought in the most intense battle zones, commanding a company of strike drone systems. His family, friends, and fellow soldiers came to pay their respects.

To honor the memory of the warrior, Hero of Ukraine Alexander Tereshchenko also attended. Alongside the fallen paratrooper, he assisted the families of deceased soldiers and engaged in national patriotic activities.

“He was a very reliable, strong, and complex person. He always spoke directly and honestly—whether people liked it or not. Sometimes we had disagreements, but he remained honest and straightforward, which fostered friendship,” Tereshchenko shared.

“I never heard fear or complaints about difficulties from him, nor about being in the trenches for three years.”

Fellow soldier Yuri noted that Obukhovsky was always different from others.

“Sasha always had his own opinion; he often went against the common consensus. But he was a true man, regardless of everything: he had a daughter getting married, a wife, yet he went to war like a true warrior.”

Yuri added that Alexander Obukhovsky had been defending Ukraine on the front lines since 2014.
