Controversial flowerbed costing a million in Mykolaiv: the metal ring has yet to be removed (photo)
In Mykolaiv, on Soborna Street, a metal ring still hangs from a tree above a flowerbed that cost a million hryvnias to set up, for which the contractor was fined by the ecological inspection.
This was reported to “Novosti-N” by readers.
On January 6, the State Environmental Inspection of the southwestern district reported a violation of Ukrainian laws regarding “Plant Life” and “Rules for Maintaining Green Plantings in Urban Areas of Ukraine.” The metal ring was affixed directly to a living tree by the contractors.
It was noted that the contractor was fined 510 hryvnias for the violation. Work will be carried out to dismantle the structure, but the ring remains attached to the tree.
The object consists of a double bench with structures installed on either side for placing green plantings. Residents of Mykolaiv are complaining about the poor quality of the work: the metal elements of the bench do not align, wood has splintered around the screwed self-tapping screws, etc.
