On the morning of Friday, December 20, Russian occupiers targeted Ukraine with missile strikes. The launches were carried out by strategic aviation.

According to reports from the Ukrainian Air Force, a large-scale air alert was declared across the country due to the takeoff of enemy MiG-31K aircraft. The number of aircraft in the air has not been specified.

Around 7 AM, Russian planes launched missiles towards Kyiv. Just minutes later, explosions were heard in the city. Monitoring channels reported the use of ballistic missiles, likely "Kinzhal" types.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that air defense systems are active in the capital. He urged residents to seek shelter.

Klitschko later informed that in the Holosiivskyi district, car fires were reported due to falling missile debris. Emergency services are heading to the site, along with medical teams.

The mayor also reported one casualty in the Holosiivskyi district.

According to emergency services, debris fell on the roof of a building in the Dniprovs'kyi district, while a fire broke out in the Solomians'kyi district.

Klitschko also mentioned another injured individual.
