The Russian Federation has intensified information diversions in Ukraine, - SBU
The Security Service of Ukraine is recording an increase in the activities of Russian special services conducting information-psychological operations in the country.
According to the press service of the agency, there has been a significant rise in information diversions aimed at creating societal divisions and artificially spreading protest sentiments.
The SBU reports that for provocations, Russian special services have employed bot farms and are extensively using controlled groups and fake accounts in messengers and social networks, particularly on TikTok and Telegram.
“In destructive content, the enemy disseminates fakes about supposedly massive protests and unrest in various regions of Ukraine. Simultaneously, Russian agents are calling on citizens to engage in mass actions to disrupt public order and the constitutional system, offering money for participation in the rallies,” the agency's statement reads.
The SBU emphasizes that it is taking all necessary measures to respond to and neutralize existing and potential threats to national security.
The agency reminds that actions aimed at the violent alteration or overthrow of the constitutional order, as well as the seizure of power (especially under martial law), are classified as a crime under Article 109 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and carry a penalty of up to 10 years of imprisonment.
