Verkhovna Rada approved the State Budget of Ukraine for 2025: key indicators

On Tuesday, November 19, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted in the second reading and in general the draft law No. 12000 "On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2025".

As reported by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, the first priority is defense and security, while the second is support for citizens. Among the priority areas for recovery identified for the next year are, in particular, the social sphere, education, and healthcare.

The state budget for 2025 provides for 3.94 trillion in expenditures (of which 2.22 trillion is for defense) and 2.3 trillion in revenues. Additionally, next year Ukraine expects external financing amounting to 38.4 billion dollars, wrote MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak.

According to Denys Shmyhal, support for citizens is the second priority of the budget for 2025. Pension indexing is planned for March. A total of almost 421 billion hryvnias is allocated for social assistance programs.

Nearly 199 billion hryvnias will be allocated for education next year, while healthcare will receive 217 billion hryvnias. 10.7 billion hryvnias are designated for the renovation of medical institutions, equipment purchases, and the establishment of rehabilitation centers. For the modernization of educational institutions and the arrangement of shelters, 17.5 billion hryvnias will be allocated.

Support for regions and communities is also planned, so next year the resources of local budgets will increase by 15%.
