Speaker Johnson: Biden did not understand the decisions he was making last year
Mike Johnson, the Republican Speaker of the House, claims that in January 2024, he became convinced that U.S. President Joe Biden is not in control of the situation in the country and does not comprehend the decisions he is making.
He made this statement during an interview with journalist Bari Weiss for Honestly, as reported by The Free Press.
To support his claims, Johnson recounted an incident that occurred in January 2024 when he met with Biden in the Oval Office.
According to him, he had been denied a meeting with the president for several weeks, but it was eventually arranged. However, instead of a one-on-one dialogue, other administration officials were also present.
Eventually, Biden requested to be left alone with Johnson for a few minutes, at which point Johnson asked the president why he issued an order to suspend the granting of permits for the export of liquefied gas, which is essential for allies in Europe and without which they are forced to buy gas from Putin and fuel his military machine.
Johnson stated that Biden initially firmly denied signing the document, but moments later asserted that he had signed another order regarding the study of the implications of LNG use, rather than a ban on new licenses.
"I realized he wasn't lying. He truly didn't know what he had signed. I left feeling scared because I understood: we are in trouble," he said.
Johnson claims that since then he has been unsettled because he does not know who is truly in charge of the country.
