Member of the American rock band KISS, Carl Cochran, tragically passed away in a car accident while his mother was behind the wheel. The news of Cochran's death was announced on the band's official page on platform X.
"Our dear friend Carl Cochran died in a car crash on February 19. Carl was an extraordinary vocalist and guitarist who suffered a severe stroke but continued to fight to return," the statement read.
Meanwhile, details about the accident that claimed the musician's life were shared by the local police department.
The incident occurred in Bridgewater. The vehicle was driven by the musician's 90-year-old mother, Arna Cochran. While reversing, she collided with a tree.
Carl was seated in the back seat, and due to the impact, he was ejected from the vehicle. Initially, the musician was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, but unfortunately, he could not be saved.
The musician's mother is in a state of shock, police added.
It is worth noting that the rock band KISS was formed in January 1973 and is one of the most successful groups in the history of rock music.
KISS has sold 75 million records worldwide, including 21 million RIAA-certified albums.
On April 10, 2014, KISS was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The rockers are known for their flamboyant costumes, stage makeup, and concert shows featuring pyrotechnic effects.
