Today's story is about the company "Eurocar," which remains the only enterprise currently manufacturing passenger cars in Ukraine.
"Eurocar" is the official manufacturer of Škoda vehicles in Ukraine and is part of the "Atoll Holding" group. This group comprises over 50 companies involved in automotive production, distribution, construction of auto centers, logistics, IT projects, and more.
Insights are provided by Deputy General Director of JSC "Eurocar" Grigory Ivanchuk.
The enterprise began its journey in 2001 with the construction of its first production facilities. Since then, "Eurocar" has significantly expanded its operations. Over more than two decades, the company has produced over 203,000 vehicles. In peak years, such as 2008, production volumes exceeded 35,000 cars per year. The plant has the capacity to manufacture 80,000 vehicles annually (SKD assembly — 30,000 cars, CKD production — 50,000 cars per year) with potential for further expansion.
Since 2001, "Eurocar" has produced vehicles under the brands Škoda, Volkswagen, SEAT, and Audi. Currently, it manufactures cars under the Škoda brand.
"Currently, 'Eurocar' remains the only functioning manufacturer of passenger cars in Ukraine. Despite the war, we continue to operate, produce vehicles, and support both ourselves and the country's economy," notes Grigory Ivanchuk.
Today, the enterprise consumes about 1.5 MW of electricity, although its capacity is designed for 8 MW. "Eurocar" is actively investing in alternative energy sources.
"Together with the Tolk Group, we are implementing projects for solar panels and cogeneration, not only to ensure our own energy supply but also to assist the region with green generation," explains the Deputy Director.
The company has adapted to the challenging conditions of wartime by uniting its team and initiating new projects. Looking ahead, "Eurocar" is exploring opportunities for electric vehicle production, as many manufacturers are actively developing their electric lineups.
In addition to its core business of vehicle manufacturing, in 2025, "Eurocar" plans to develop its logistics direction and support social initiatives within the local community.
If "Eurocar" were to create its own, entirely Ukrainian vehicle, it would be reliable and practical. "Comfort is important, but in our time, reliability and simplicity become key," says Grigory Ivanchuk, "Safety is the top priority."
The vehicles produced at the plant meet all quality standards required by the Volkswagen Group. "Our products are of the same quality as those manufactured abroad. All standards required by the Volkswagen Group are adhered to here as well," emphasizes Ivanchuk.
The company's management believes that the implementation of artificial intelligence can become an important tool in production but stresses the need for a cautious approach to its application. "Of course, this is one of the areas that is currently developing very actively — not just in our company but also within our holding. However, artificial intelligence should be a helper to humans, not a competitor," notes the Deputy General Director of JSC "Eurocar."
By maintaining high product quality, adhering to innovative approaches, and remaining committed to social values, "Eurocar" continues its journey into the future, working for the benefit of Ukraine.
