The importance of joining the Armed Forces: ways to boost troop morale and why it's essential to do so.

Every day, Ukraine loses territory — but, as soldier Alexander Karpyuk reminds us, that's not the only thing happening on the front lines. The enemy is also suffering massive losses in soldiers daily, while the Ukrainian Armed Forces are achieving significant successes. It's important to continually emphasize this point.
Зачем вступать в ВСУ: как укрепить моральный дух армии и почему это необходимо.

The morale of the troops.

A few personal observations.

We are currently living in a situation where the enemy has the initiative. When the initiative was ours, the Russians were in a more subdued state; now that they have taken the initiative, everything has changed 180 degrees. We perceive everything in dark tones.

Everyone seems to have forgotten that initiative is a variable thing, and to possess it requires a plan and the right moral state.

We mostly discuss failures, neglecting those who are successfully doing their jobs. Month after month.

For instance, our unit has stopped posting videos of enemy defeats and equipment losses because we see nothing interesting or new in that anymore. And what is there to show? All those drone strikes and defeats from various angles have been seen by all our subscribers many times, including from other units that are also doing their jobs well.

The infantry has stopped posting videos of successful repulses of assaults or their own assaults because "well, this has already been done many times."

And what’s the point of boasting about regaining a position if we lost 10 square kilometers yesterday?

All these feats remain behind the scenes. The work that subscribers see in the dry statistics from the General Staff every morning, with enemy losses of 1,000-1,500 per day.

The military machine is functioning. It generates events that remain off-screen. It persistently grinds the stone made up of thousands of manpower bags, knowing that this stone has its limits and eventually another strike will create an unexpected but crucial crack, and then we will realize that we have endured until the necessary event, we have held our ground, and we will begin to strike harder, to smash that stone more vigorously, but for now, we must stand and inflict defeats. And we are standing. Enduring yet another difficult day. With nerves, bad moods, criticism (well, how can there be none? What soldier doesn’t criticize the command?), and trying to ensure our survival for tomorrow, because tomorrow will be just as challenging.

So, I really dislike that we have started to forget the forces that sustain us and the events we generate. Because each day consists not only of territorial losses but also of the heroic events of the infantry, the successful operations of drone operators, and many simple occurrences that allow this military machine to continue its bloody harvest, undeterred by anything.

And we need to learn to talk about this again.

This is also one of the problems of mobilization. People may enlist in a successful army. But joining an army that is losing and surrounded by bad news is perceived quite differently.

We need to talk more not only about problems but also about achievements and heroism. Yes, it’s harder than in 2022, when people were not yet so worn out by the war. But it is necessary.
