On the morning of Saturday, February 1, the Russian army launched a missile strike on the civilian and energy infrastructure of Ukraine. The Russians hit the entrance of a five-story building in Poltava with a missile. As a result, the death toll has risen to 12 people, including 2 children. This was reported by the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Poltava region.

The agency added that the number of injured individuals has also increased. Currently, 17 people are known to be affected, including four children. All emergency and utility services, as well as volunteers, are working at the scene.

The police specified that psychologists from the State Emergency Service and the National Police have provided assistance to 194 individuals, including 11 children. Investigators from the police and the Security Service of Ukraine are currently documenting the war crime. Law enforcement urged citizens to respond appropriately to the "Air Alert" signal and stay in shelters until the "All Clear" signal is given.

The State Emergency Service added that 22 people have now been rescued.

Missile Strike on Poltava: What We Know

Later, it became known that the death toll from the Russian missile strike increased to nine, and the number of injured rose to 17 people. It was noted that among the injured were four children, the youngest of whom was just 3 months old.

It later turned out that among the victims was a young actress from the "Theater of Modern Dialogue," animal rights advocate and volunteer Nastya Kolvakh. The girl's body was found among the rubble of the building in Brailki.
