In the Vinnytsia region, an ammonia leak was reported near one of the villages. Rescuers immediately began working to eliminate the aftermath of the incident. This information was shared by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
The incident occurred near the village of Stavky in the Vinnytsia region around 9 AM. A leak of anhydrous ammonia from a tanker’s shut-off valve was detected.
Rescuers promptly started addressing the consequences of the leak, and as a result, no one was injured. There is also no threat to the lives of local residents.
"Emergency responders quickly took measures to prevent the spread of the cloud by using spray water jets and conducting operations to transfer the ammonia into an empty container. The situation is under control and poses no threat to the life and health of citizens," the statement said.
Recall that on June 5, 2023, a similar incident occurred in the Kharkiv region. At that time, Russian occupiers damaged an ammonia pipeline. In connection with the incident in the Kupiansk district of Kharkiv region, a headquarters was established to manage the aftermath.
On April 6, it was reported that a mysterious "radiation leak" led to a state of emergency in a Russian city. According to journalists, the Russian authorities did not explain the cause of the alarm regarding radiation in Khabarovsk. Meanwhile, the state of emergency will remain in effect for several days.
