Futuristic design and enhanced range: the new Tesla Model Y makes its debut (photos).

An online presentation of the 2025 Tesla Model Y took place in China. The world's most popular electric vehicle has undergone significant upgrades and will be available for sale starting in March, with a price tag beginning at $39,950. Its details were revealed on the Tesla website.

The new Tesla Model Y (working title — Juniper) has experienced more substantial changes compared to its sibling sedan, the Model 3. The front end of the electric crossover has become more aerodynamic. The headlights are now "two-tiered," and both the front and rear lighting are connected by LED strips. The drag coefficient has been reduced to 0.22.

Inside, the Tesla Model Y Juniper features enhanced finishes and sound insulation, along with new steering wheel and seating designs. Additionally, for the first time, a turn signal lever has been installed (previously, they were activated by buttons). Rear passengers now have their own touchscreen.

The Tesla Model Y Juniper is available in two versions:

• RWD — rear-wheel drive, one motor, 299 hp, 5.9 seconds to 100 km/h, 62.5 kWh battery, range of 466 km;
• Long Range AWD — all-wheel drive, two motors, 450 hp, 4.3 seconds to 100 km/h, 81 kWh battery, range of 551 km.

Both versions have become faster and feature slightly increased ranges. The top variant, the Tesla Model Y Performance, will be showcased later.
