The Rebel Wolves studio, led by former developers of "The Witcher," continues to unveil details about their new game, as reported by Gaming Bolt.
The project, titled The Blood of Dawnwalker, is an open-world action RPG featuring vampires as the main characters.
The protagonist of the game is a character named Cohen—a newly turned vampire living in the Carpathian Mountains during the 14th century. Although the specifics of the game's storyline remain undisclosed, one might speculate that it will emphasize the invincibility and power of vampires.
However, according to the developers, the situation in the game will be quite different. In a recent Twitch stream, studio CEO and game director Konrad Tomashkevich stated that Cohen will not be a "superhero."
"What I appreciate about Cohen as a character is that he will never be a superhero. He will never be a classic winner. During the day, he will be human and able to fight with a sword. The character will be able to learn and use dark magic, but he will never be invincible," Tomashkevich declared.
He further noted that gamers should not expect Cohen to exhibit the behaviors associated with Geralt. According to writer and narrative director Jakub Shamalek, Cohen "is just at the beginning of his adventure, which is really cool because it makes him a very atypical main character for a game."
"He is not a gray veteran who has seen it all in his life, cynically observing the world around him and commenting on what he sees with one-liners. He is a young guy who, deep down, is still emotional. He is vulnerable, and he is honest about his feelings," Shamalek shared.
While the developers have not announced a release date for Blood of Dawnwalker, it is already known that it will be available on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.
Additionally, it is known that one of the key elements of the gameplay will be a 30-day time limit for the main storyline. Although the developers assert that this will not be a "harsh timer" forcing players to rush.
As a reminder, the developers of the new game The Blood of Dawnwalker, who participated in the creation of "The Witcher," shared details about the gameplay. According to Rebel Wolves, the main character Cohen will have 30 days and 30 nights to complete the main quests.
