The Armed Forces of Ukraine executed a precision strike on the command post of the 8th Guards Combined Arms Army of Russia, located in the city of Khartsyzk in Donetsk region. This was reported on Wednesday, January 8, by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

As explained by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Russians were planning shelling from the command post, prompting Ukrainian military forces to take measures to prevent attacks.

“The Russian occupying forces utilized this building to coordinate attacks against the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the civilian population, particularly the residents of Kurakhove. All necessary measures were taken to minimize risks to civilians,” the report stated.

Russian Telegram channels reported that at least 8 explosions were heard in the city. Local residents complained about power outages and internet disruptions.
