The Ukrainian Armed Forces have slowed the advance of Russian troops in one of the sectors.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine have managed to slow down the advance of the Russian army in most of the critical areas of the Novopavlivka direction. This was reported on Thursday, February 27, by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces worked with the brigades that are defending in the Donetsk region in the Novopavlivka direction due to the fact that Russian troops have intensified their offensive there.

“The enemy in this direction is actively conducting offensive operations, attempting to break through the defenses of our troops and seize three settlements,” Syrskyi stated.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine have taken a number of measures to improve the interaction between military units and subdivisions, conducted troop regrouping, and thus slowed the enemy's advance in most of the threatening areas.

“The intentions of the Russian occupiers in these directions have remained unchanged for over three years, namely – to reach the administrative borders of the Donetsk region. However, enemy losses are only increasing, while their plans remain unfulfilled,” the Commander-in-Chief added.

According to data from the General Staff, on February 26, the Russians carried out 19 attacks in the direction of the settlements of Kostiantynivka, Rozdolne, Shevchenko, and Burlatske in the Novopavlivka direction.

Recall that on February 26, it became known that the Dnipropetrovsk paratroopers, during assault recovery operations, took control of the settlement of Kotlyne, located near Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region.
