Law enforcement officials have apprehended a 22-year-old resident of Volyn who defrauded a woman from Vinnytsia out of 450,000 UAH under the pretense of removing a curse. The perpetrator faces up to eight years in prison for her actions. This was reported by the press service of the Vinnytsia Regional Prosecutor's Office on November 26.

“By driving the woman to despair, the suspect deceitfully extracted over 450,000 UAH from the victim for the ritual. She used the money at her own discretion,” the prosecutor's office stated.
The resident of Volyn has been charged with acquiring someone else's property through deception or abuse of trust, committed in significant amounts (Part 4 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). Investigative actions are ongoing. The article's sanction provides for a sentence of three to eight years of imprisonment.
