Ukrainian defender Maksym Talovierov from Austria's LASK has joined Plymouth, as reported by the official website of the English club. The 24-year-old defender has signed a contract with the team from the second tier of English football until the summer of 2028.

According to media reports, the transfer fee for the Ukrainian was 2 million euros, making him the most expensive signing in the club's history. Interestingly, the previous record lasted only a few weeks – at the beginning of January, the English club paid Swedish team Elfsborg 1.75 million euros for midfielder Michael Baidoo.

It's worth noting that Talovierov's new team is currently facing a serious crisis. After 29 rounds, they sit at the bottom of the Championship table, having accumulated 22 points.

Recall that Talovierov is a graduate of Shakhtar Donetsk. He played for the youth team of the miners, as well as for Kyiv's Arsenal and Donetsk's Olimpik. In February 2019, he moved to the Czech Republic, where he represented Dynamo České Budějovice, Prague's Sparta, Slavia, and Slovan.

He joined LASK in February 2023. Initially, he played for the Austrians on loan, and a year later he was bought for 1.6 million euros. He has played 6 matches for the Ukrainian national team. Transfermarkt values him at 2.5 million euros.
