Explosives and "tripwires": police document sabotage against personnel, - media
The National Police is aware of cases of sabotage against Ukrainian law enforcement, particularly involving explosives.
This information comes from sources within the National Police, as reported by UP.
One of the tragedies involved the detonation of a serviceman. Near a vehicle, there was a package, and a camera was attached to a tree, streaming the event live.
A guard patrolling the area noticed the package, and when he approached and leaned down to inspect it, an explosive device was activated remotely.
It is noted that this is not the first incident of its kind. Military personnel and civilians are advised not to touch unfamiliar objects and to call bomb disposal units via 102.
Another incident occurred in Kyiv in mid-November. The police received a report from a woman claiming that a man was assaulting her on Pechersky Descent; she had locked herself in the bathroom and was requesting assistance.
When the police crew arrived, they called the woman, and she informed them that the door to her apartment was not locked and told them to enter.
Upon opening the unlocked door and stepping inside the apartment, the officers heard the sound of a grenade pin being pulled and managed to close the door just in time. At that moment, an explosion occurred in the apartment's hallway. The police personnel and others present were unharmed.
It was determined that a "tripwire" mechanism using an F-1 grenade had been triggered, and there was no one in the apartment at the time.
The apartment was being rented out on a short-term basis, and the owners had not seen the woman.
"Ukrainian Truth" has requested an official comment from the National Police.
In a statement to UP, the police reminded that recently they detained a 17-year-old youth who detonated a homemade device in the Darnytskyi district. He had been recruited by Russian intelligence services for a series of such explosions in Ukraine. Specifically, he is implicated in arson attacks on Ukrposhta branches in Mykolaiv and Odesa, and he was preparing for another terrorist act.
"This indicates a premeditated crime aimed at destabilizing the situation, instilling fear, and disrupting the normal functioning of law enforcement agencies," the statement said.
