A truck fatally struck a pedestrian near the Varvarovskyi Bridge in Mykolaiv, causing significant traffic jams.

On the evening of Friday, November 29, on Bolshaya Morskaya Street in Mykolaiv, a MAN truck with a semi-trailer fatally struck a pedestrian.

This was reported by a correspondent from "Novosti-N" at the scene of the incident.

The truck came off the Varvarovskyi Bridge onto Bolshaya Morskaya Street. According to the truck driver, he noticed that a vehicle ahead turned left, and he followed suit but at that moment felt that his vehicle had hit some obstacle. He immediately applied the brakes.

Upon exiting the vehicle, he found a middle-aged man lying on the asphalt with no signs of life. The doctor from the ambulance, which was called to the scene, confirmed the victim's death.

Due to the accident, enormous traffic jams formed on the streets leading to the Varvarovskyi Bridge: both from the city center towards Varvarivka and from the direction of leaving the city. The traffic jams have stretched for several kilometers in each direction.

Currently, investigators and experts are working at the scene. Patrol officers have organized traffic in a reverse mode.
