On the evening of Sunday, January 5, an accident occurred on the Lviv-Ternopil highway in the village of Pidhaychyky. As a result of the collision between two vehicles, there are injuries reported. This was communicated to ZAXID.NET by the press service of the State Emergency Service of Lviv region.
The accident happened around 6:00 PM. The vehicles involved were a Volkswagen Golf, driven by a 40-year-old resident of one of the villages in the Lviv region, and a Hyundai Tucson, operated by a 52-year-old woman from the Khmelnytskyi region. Rescuers extricated the drivers of both cars and handed them over to medical personnel. Additionally, a 74-year-old woman from the Khmelnytskyi region was also injured in the accident. All three were hospitalized.
In connection with the accident, investigators have opened a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty stipulated by the article's sanction is imprisonment for up to three years, along with a ban on driving vehicles for up to three years. Law enforcement officials are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
