In Bukovina, a fatal car accident occurred on the night of February 2, resulting in the death of a 21-year-old driver. Preliminary investigations suggest that the man lost control of his vehicle, crashed into a drainage pipe, and then into a concrete fence. He died at the scene of the incident. The police are currently investigating this accident.
The deadly accident took place on the night of February 2 in the village of Vashkivtsi, Dnistrovskyi district. Residents of the village, upon hearing a loud crash and banging, came out of their homes and discovered the accident. They called the police, emergency services, and an ambulance.
At the scene, officers from the transport crime investigation department and the investigative-operational group from the police station in Sokyryany, Dnistrovskyi district, arrived.
“Law enforcement officials preliminarily established that the 21-year-old driver of a ‘Volkswagen Golf’ collided with a concrete drainage pipe and a fence,” – reported the Bukovina police on Monday, February 3.
As a result of the traffic accident, the 21-year-old driver sustained multiple bodily injuries and died at the scene. The body of the deceased has been sent for forensic examination.
Information regarding the accident has been entered into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Violation of traffic safety rules or operation of vehicles by persons operating vehicles). Pre-trial investigations are ongoing. Authorities are also determining whether the driver was in a sober state.
