The Armed Forces of Ukraine have extended the training period for instructors at training centers.

The General Staff has launched a new training program for military instructors.

The training period for instructors at Ukrainian Armed Forces training centers has been extended from one month to two months, and the content and methods of the training program have been strengthened. This was reported on Saturday, February 1, by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi.

Additionally, according to Syrskyi, brigades are noting improved preparedness among graduates of training centers who have undergone a longer course of basic military training – 1.5 months instead of the previous 30 days.

“We will continue to implement this positive practice and enhance it with further adaptive courses in military units. At the same time, there is a need to improve the level of psychological training. I emphasized the necessity to strengthen this area of work,” said the Commander-in-Chief.

He added that the initiative to conduct basic combined arms training at combat units, rather than at training centers, has also proven successful.

“Conclusions: conducting the basic combined arms training at brigade facilities allows for a higher level of personnel preparation. This enables on-site quality control; enhances skills in handling weapons and military equipment; improves team cohesion and the adoption of military traditions of the unit; and significantly reduces the occurrence of injuries during training,” Syrskyi explained, adding that the General Staff will scale this experience on a permanent basis.

It is worth noting that starting from November 1, 2024, the training centers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have increased the duration of basic combined arms training to 1.5 months instead of 30 days. The extension of basic combined arms training includes an increase in the duration of firearms training, first aid practice, and other supplementary introductory courses.
