In Vinnytsia, police, in collaboration with the SBU, detained an official from the district Territorial Center for Staffing and Social Support who, in exchange for bribes, assisted conscripts in obtaining deferments from mobilization. This was reported by the press service of the National Police and SBU.
According to investigators, the military officer at the TCC promised to submit false information about four men to the databases. The false data was to serve as a basis for processing deferments from mobilization for the conscripts. For this service, the TCC official demanded $16,000 from all four men.
Additionally, police reported that the military was selling partially filled draft notices to individuals of conscription age for $600, allowing them to present these to TCC representatives, passing them off as genuine. This way, the conscripts could evade mobilization. The TCC official sourced clients among his acquaintances.
Police and SBU officers apprehended the TCC official while he was receiving money from those evading conscription. During the search, mobile phones were found in his possession containing information that proves his illegal activities. He was also found with cash, which he presumably earned from the evaders.
The military has been informed of suspicion of receiving unlawful benefits (Part 3, Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The sanctions of the article provide for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to ten years and confiscation of property. Additionally, if the military's guilt is proven, he will be deprived of the right to hold certain positions for three years. Currently, the suspect is in custody.
