A medical plane crashed in the U.S. with a child and five other individuals on board.

A medical transport plane crashed in Philadelphia, USA, with six people on board, including a mother and child. It is currently unknown if any passengers survived, reported ABC News on Saturday, February 1.

The Learjet 55 medical plane crashed near the Roosevelt shopping center in the northeast part of the city at approximately 6:30 PM on January 31. Prior to the crash, it had taken off from Northeast Philadelphia Airport, heading to Springfield-Branson National Airport in Missouri.

Witnesses shared photos and videos showing the plane descending and exploding immediately upon impact. A fire broke out at the crash site of the medical aircraft.

There were four crew members on board, as well as a mother and child, though the age of the child has not been specified. According to Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker, officials are currently unable to confirm information regarding fatalities. It has been noted that six individuals injured in the crash have been transported to a local hospital, but it is unclear if these include the plane's passengers.

It is worth mentioning that this is the second aviation disaster in the USA within a few days – on January 29, a plane and a military helicopter collided in the skies over Washington, crashing into the river. There were 67 people on board the vehicles, none of whom survived. U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the cause of the disaster was a "combination of poor decisions." He assured that the authorities would soon release a list of those who perished in the tragedy, including foreign nationals.
