In Rivne, a 47-year-old Tesla driver fatally struck a pensioner.

On the morning of November 28, a fatal traffic accident occurred in Rivne. A driver of a Tesla Model X struck a 77-year-old woman who was crossing the road outside of a pedestrian crossing. Medical personnel only confirmed the victim's death.

As reported by the regional police press service, the accident occurred around 06:20 on Lönokombinat Street. Investigators determined that the driver of the Tesla Model X, a 47-year-old resident of the village of Varkovichi, hit the 77-year-old woman from Rivne, who was crossing the road in the dark outside of the pedestrian crossing. The woman succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

“The vehicle driver was preliminarily sober. Blood samples have also been taken from him,” law enforcement officials stated.

In connection with the violation of traffic safety rules that led to the victim's death (Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), the police have initiated a criminal proceeding. The penalties for this article range from three to eight years of imprisonment.
