В Днепре задержали супругов-российских агентов, которые изготовили взрывчатку для теракта рядом с ТЦК.

Law enforcement agencies apprehended a couple of Russian agents involved in the terrorist attack in Dnipro on December 14, 2024. The husband and wife manufactured explosives, which they detonated near the local TCC building, reported the press services of the Prosecutor General's Office and the Security Service of Ukraine on Thursday, January 9.

According to the investigation, the explosive device was created by a 33-year-old man who had deserted his military unit and was hiding in Dnipro, along with his 25-year-old wife. They caught the attention of Russian intelligence services while searching for quick earnings in Telegram channels. Eventually, the couple was recruited with promises of money.

“Following the instructions of the occupiers, they manufactured the explosives, then concealed them in a bag and placed them in a predetermined hideout. After that, the traitors remotely monitored how the 'executor' retrieved the explosive device from the stash, reporting to their Russian handler via messenger. To avoid raising suspicion, the couple brought their 3-year-old child with them,”reported the press service of the SBU.

On December 14, 2024, another individual recruited by the Russians retrieved the explosives from the stash and detonated them near the administrative building of the TCC in Dnipro. As a result of the attack, one person was killed, and two police officers sustained serious injuries.

The executor of the attack was apprehended on the same day, while the couple of criminals was detained in January after they moved to another apartment and attempted to "lie low" while continuing to work for Russia.

The man and woman were arrested, and mobile phones containing evidence of the terrorist preparation were discovered. Additionally, law enforcement seized the clothing the traitors used to manufacture the explosives, along with Russian instructions for their creation.

They were charged under part 2, 3 of Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (committing a terrorist act in conspiracy resulting in death) and part 1 of Article 14 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (preparation for a crime). Currently, the couple and the executor of the attack are in custody. They face life imprisonment with asset confiscation.
