In nine regions of Ukraine, air defense systems neutralized Russian drones.

On the night of Wednesday, January 8, Russian forces launched 64 strike drones and other types of UAVs at Ukraine. This information is reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

It is known that during the night, the enemy launched 64 drones towards Ukraine from the directions of Orel, Kursk, Bryansk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.

The air assault was countered by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups of the Air Forces, and the Defense Forces of Ukraine. A total of 41 drones were neutralized. Air defense operations took place in the Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, and Kirovohrad regions.

The report also mentions that 22 imitation drones were lost in specific locations, three of which flew towards Russia, and one towards Belarus.

In the Kyiv region, debris from a downed enemy drone damaged a private house.

“During the night, the enemy once again attacked Kyiv region using UAVs. The alarm lasted for 7 hours. Air defense forces were active in the region. Enemy targets were downed,” reported the acting head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, Mykola Kalashnikov.

It is worth noting that on the night of January 7, Russian forces launched 38 strike drones and other types of UAVs from the directions of Millerovo, Kursk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk. As a result of the aerial combat, 28 drones were destroyed.
