Трамп заявил, что вскоре встретится с Зеленским.

On Monday, February 24, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that he will meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to sign an agreement regarding minerals either this week or next week.

I will meet with President Zelensky. He may come this week or next week to sign the mineral agreement,” Trump stated.

The U.S. President expressed hope that Ukraine would be able to regain some of its territory and emphasized that he sees no issue with European troops being sent to Ukraine on a peacekeeping mission.

Additionally, Trump mentioned that he would meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin at some point. Previously, he noted on his social media platform Truth Social that both sides are engaged in serious negotiations regarding ending the war in Ukraine, as well as on economic development between the U.S. and Russia.

It should be noted that President Volodymyr Zelensky stated at the Munich Security Conference that the agreement brought to Kyiv on February 12 by U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, which provided access to Ukrainian mineral extraction, was not ready to protect Ukraine and its interests.

Subsequently, media reported that the agreement for U.S. access to Ukrainian minerals, which the Trump administration planned to establish with Kyiv, involves Washington's control over mineral and oil and gas resources, ports, and other infrastructure in Ukraine.

According to data from the American news site Axios, the U.S. has provided Ukraine with an improved version of the agreement. Journalists, citing sources in Ukraine and the U.S., claim that it now “looks more likely.”

On February 20, Zelensky declared his readiness to enter into a “strong agreement” with the U.S. regarding investment and security.
