Trump Jr. is at the center of controversy over hunting rare ducks in Italy.

A year ago, Donald Trump's son was hunting red ducks, or common pochards, in the Venetian Lagoon, despite the fact that hunting them is prohibited by law.

The son of the U.S. President, Donald Trump Jr., has found himself at the center of a scandal due to a video from last year. In it, he is seen next to the carcass of a rare red duck, the hunting of which is prohibited by European legislation. Evidence of this surfaced in a video featuring Trump Jr., which was published on the "Global Hunting for Adventure" website. This was reported by Ansa.

Andrea Zanoni, a member of the regional council of Venice, drew attention to the footage. He stated that the son of the American president visited Italy in December and participated in hunting along the Adriatic coast. He has already submitted a request, filed a complaint with the prosecutor's office, and is prepared to take further action.

In the released video, Donald Trump Jr. describes the ducks he has shot. Among them is the red duck, or the common pochard—this bird species is subject to restrictions imposed by the EU authorities aimed at its conservation.

Moreover, Zanoni claims that Trump hunted in a protected area in the municipality of Campagna Lupia. According to him, current Italian legislation permits hunting only in one region of the country and requires a special permit from the authorities.

"In fact, in our country, only residents of one of Italy's regions can hunt. You need a hunting license issued by the police department, but above all, you must have an identification card granted exclusively to residents of one of Italy's regions," Zanoni stated.

"They cannot dominate," asserted Zanoni, who was initially part of the Democratic Party and is now with Europa Verde, as well as a committed animal rights activist.

He has already declared that "the current government under Meloni, on a short leash due to the new political course of the U.S., where the U.S. Air Force is conducting military exercises in areas protected by the EU near Treviso, now sees Trump’s son hunting protected species in the Venetian lagoon."

"Venice and Italy are not the property of the USA!" – stated Zanoni, noting that Donald Trump Jr. apparently visited Italy in the fall of 2024 with friends and his new girlfriend Bettina Anderson.

It is worth mentioning that for Bettina, Don Jr. left his previous girlfriend, former Fox News host Kimberly Guilfoyle. Kimberly was actively involved in Donald Trump's campaign and supported him.
