One thousand teachers and educators in Lviv will receive an additional 15,000 UAH to their base salary each month throughout the year. Candidates for this bonus will be selected in several stages. This decision was formalized through amendments to the "Inspiring Educators" program during the Lviv City Council session on January 30, as reported by the LMR.
“Starting in February, teachers will have the opportunity to receive additional rewards. In total, the bonus will be awarded to 1,000 educators, meaning there will be several rewarded educators in each school,” said Andriy Zakaliuk, head of the Lviv Education Department.
Eligible candidates will include:
teachers from schools in the Lviv community who have worked for at least one year in an educational institution as a teacher at their primary place of employment, with a weekly workload of no less than 18 hours;
social educators, practical psychologists, and organizing educators who have worked for at least one year with a workload of 40 hours per week;
leaders of extracurricular activities in out-of-school educational institutions who have worked for at least one year at their primary place of employment with a weekly workload of no less than 18 hours.
teachers and concertmasters of art and music schools in the community who have worked for at least one year with a weekly workload of no less than 18 hours.
The selection of candidates will occur in three stages:
1) anonymous voting among students;
2) professional testing of educational staff;
3) evaluation by an expert group that will include educators, parents, and representatives of student self-government.
The "Inspiring Educators" program will be in effect from 2025 to 2030. Educators for the bonuses will be selected annually for a term of 12 months.
