The U.S. aims to generate $20 billion in profit from its agreement with Ukraine regarding mineral resources.

The United States believes that its economic interests will help secure Ukrainian territories.
США рассчитывают получить 20 миллиардов долларов прибыли от соглашения с Украиной по полезным ископаемым.

The United States expects to gain $20 billion in revenue from the agreement with Ukraine regarding rare earth metals. This was shared by White House economic advisor Kevin Hassett with journalist Kelly Mayer.

According to Kevin Hassett, the agreement with Ukraine regarding minerals holds even greater value. Hassett also asserts that Donald Trump believes the deal will not only enhance U.S. national security by providing essential minerals but will also protect Ukrainian territories, as "no one wants to attack assets that belong to the U.S."

"I believe that having some American ownership is a way to ensure U.S. economic interest in the region. This, we hope, will help maintain peace when it, as we hope, arrives,” concluded Kevin Hassett.

Recall that on Wednesday, February 26, Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that Ukraine and the U.S. agreed on a deal concerning rare earth metals. According to the president, the agreed-upon deal does not include a clause about "500 billion dollars," and Ukraine is not a debtor. Both countries will co-own a fund to which Ukraine will contribute 50% of the revenue from future mineral and rare earth metal extraction.

At the same time, Volodymyr Zelensky mentioned that the agreement does not specify all the security guarantees that Ukraine desires; the document states that the U.S. supports "Ukraine's efforts to obtain the necessary security guarantees for sustainable peace."
