Units will be established within the framework of the authorization to mobilize volunteers without the involvement of the Territorial Recruitment Centers and Social Protection.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, has instructed each brigade commander to establish a dedicated recruitment unit to facilitate the enlistment of volunteers without the involvement of the TCC and SP. This was reported by the press service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Monday, November 25.

“An appropriate organizational directive has been issued to establish staffing units for recruitment within combat military units. This innovation will enable commanders to enhance the organization and support of volunteer recruitment efforts,” the General Staff press service stated.

The order pertains to changes in mobilization processes that have been ongoing since October, when the Cabinet of Ministers approved a resolution allowing volunteers to mobilize to their chosen military unit without the involvement of the TCC and SP. Thus, military personnel and reservists can now independently select a military unit for service without contacting the TCC and SP.

At the same time, commanders of military units have been granted the necessary authority to send military personnel who volunteer to the VLK and to fill their units with those willing to join the brigades.

It should be noted that earlier the General Staff announced it would determine the list of military units whose commanders would be able to mobilize volunteers. However, the authority to establish recruitment units has been granted to the command of all brigades. Previously, recruitment centers operated in the Armed Forces within the following branches:

  • Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine;
  • Navy;
  • Airmobile Assault Forces;
  • Special Operations Forces;
  • Territorial Defense Forces.

The exact number of volunteers who have already joined through the simplified recruitment program has not been specified by the General Staff.
