In the night of Monday, January 6, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with guided aviation missiles X-59 and 128 drones. This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
During the night on Monday, the enemy launched two guided aviation missiles X-59 from the southern direction and 128 drones of various types from the directions of Bryansk, Millerovo, Orel, Kursk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.
In the morning, the Air Force confirmed the downing of two guided aviation missiles X-59 and 79 strike drones of the Shahed type, along with other types of drones. Air defense was operational in Mykolaiv, Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Kirovohrad, and Vinnytsia regions. The report indicates that no hits were recorded.
Additionally, another 49 enemy imitation drones were lost in specific locations.
«Due to the fall of the downed enemy drones, there has been damage to buildings of enterprises, institutions, and private homes in Chernihiv, Sumy, Cherkasy, Poltava, and Kyiv regions. Preliminary reports indicate no casualties or injuries», – the report adds.
It is known that during this night, debris from a drone damaged the contact network line of "Ukrzaliznytsia" in Kyiv region. Consequently, some train services may experience delays.
Recall that on Sunday, January 5, the Air Force shot down 61 out of 121 enemy drones, with another 42 being lost in specific locations.
President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that the enemy drones used by Russia to attack Ukraine on the night of January 5 were found to contain 8,755 components of foreign production.
