Russians launched attacks with over 200 drones, prompting "Ukrenergo" to implement emergency power outages.

On the night of Friday, February 28, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 208 strike drones of the Shahed type and various types of imitation drones. This was reported by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

It is known that Russian troops launched drones from several directions, namely: Orel, Bryansk, Kursk, Millerovo, Shatalovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.

During the aerial combat, defenders eliminated 107 drones. Air defense systems were active in the Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions. Additionally, 97 enemy imitation drones were lost in various locations.

As a result of the enemy attack on February 28, Kharkiv, Sumy, Mykolaiv, and Zaporizhzhia were affected.

In Mykolaiv, the wreckage of a downed drone fell on the premises of an industrial enterprise, causing a fire. Overall, as a result of the attack, a warehouse and a cargo van were damaged at the facility.

In Zaporizhzhia, a drone struck an apartment building, injuring an 82-year-old woman.

Due to the attack, emergency power outages were implemented in several regions of Ukraine. Restrictions were introduced in the Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk regions. In the Poltava and Sumy regions, three phases of emergency disconnection schedules were applied.

“Initially, industrial consumers are disconnected. Restrictions for residential consumers are only applied in specific cases,” added in “Ukrenergo”.

Updated at 10:53. The emergency power outages implemented in several regions in the morning were canceled as of 10:50.

“Due to the nighttime drone attack on energy facilities, emergency power outages were necessitated in several regions in the morning. Initially, industrial consumers were limited. Currently, emergency outages have been canceled and are not being applied in any region,” reported energy workers.

Recall that Russian forces launched 166 strike drones and various types of imitation drones at Ukraine on the night of Thursday, February 27. As a result of the enemy attack, Kyiv, Chernihiv, and Sumy were affected.
