Ukrainian midfielder of "Karpaty," Maksym Melnychuk, has officially become a full player of "Polissya," reports the official website of the Zhytomyr club. The 19-year-old midfielder signed a three-year contract with the team of Imad Ashur.
It’s worth noting that Melnychuk is a product of "Chornomorets." In July 2021, he transferred to SC "Dnipro-1." After three years, he joined "Karpaty" as a free agent. In September 2024, he was loaned to "Polissya." The agreement with the Zhytomyr team was expected to last until the end of the season; however, Butkevych and Co decided to buy out the player’s contract ahead of schedule, utilizing their priority right to this option.
In the current season, Melnychuk has played 12 matches for "Polissya" across all competitions, contributing 1 assist. He has also participated in 5 matches for the Ukrainian U21 national team. Transfermarkt values Maksym at 400 thousand euros.
By the way, "Polissya" ended the winter break in 5th place in the UPL standings, having accumulated 27 points. "Karpaty" follows closely with 24 points in 6th place.
