In the Lviv region, law enforcement officers have detained a 64-year-old man who stabbed his acquaintance. The 38-year-old victim is currently in intensive care. This was reported on Monday, November 25, by the police of the Lviv region.
The incident occurred on the evening of Saturday, November 23. The police received a report that a man had been injured in the house of one of the villages in the Zolochiv district. Medical personnel diagnosed him with, among other things, a "penetrating stab wound to the chest."
Criminal police officers, investigators, and staff from other units of the Zolochiv district police department immediately arrived at the scene.
As established by the police, that evening a conflict arose between the 64-year-old homeowner and his guest, a 38-year-old resident of the Luhansk region, during the consumption of alcoholic beverages. During the argument, the older man stabbed the younger one in the face and chest, causing serious bodily harm. The victim was hospitalized in intensive care.
The suspect has been detained, and he has been informed of the suspicion of committing a criminal offense under part 1 of Article 121 (Intentional serious bodily injury) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment of imprisonment for a term of five to eight years. Pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
