The defense forces are in control of approximately 800 square kilometers in the Kursk region of Russia. This was reported on November 22 by LIGA.net citing a source in the command of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the source, the maximum area of territories controlled by Ukrainian forces during the Kursk operation exceeded 1300 square kilometers.

After the Russians began to mobilize resources and attempted to regain control over Kursk, Ukrainian defenders were forced to retreat to preserve their personnel.

The General Staff noted that the Kursk operation by Ukrainian forces disrupted the Russian strategic operation to capture Zaporizhzhia, as the occupiers had to redeploy units from southern Ukraine.
