The occupying Kherson Regional Court has delivered a guilty verdict against 35-year-old Igor Protokovil, a deputy of the Nova Kakhovka City Council from the "Batkivshchyna" party. This was reported by the publication "Most" and the so-called governor of Kherson region, Volodymyr Saldo, on November 25.
According to the investigation, in April 2022, Protokovil transmitted information about the locations of Russian military personnel to a Security Service of Ukraine employee via one of the messaging apps. He was accused of espionage against Russian soldiers and sentenced to 12 years in a high-security prison.
It should be noted that in April 2022, Russian troops abducted Igor Protokovil from his own home. The deputy was previously elected to the city council from the "Batkivshchyna" party, although he led the city organization of the "Svoboda" party.
