A new leader has been appointed at the Polissya Forestry Office. Sergei Chupryna, the former director of the Northwest Interregional Department of Forestry and Hunting, has taken over from Oleksandr Kvatyrko. This information was confirmed by the press service of the Polissya Forestry Office to ZAXID.NET on January 7.

According to the publication “Konkurent”, Oleksandr Kvatyrko, who managed the forestry sector in Volyn for nearly 10 years and became the head of the Polissya Forestry Office in 2023, has been transferred to the position of operational director at the central office of the State Enterprise “Forests of Ukraine.”

It is noteworthy that in August 2024, the official became embroiled in a scandal, as he allegedly allowed the family of the director of digital transformation for the WOG gas station network, Oleg Kushil, to live in a cottage within the territory of the state significance botanical reserve “Vorotniv,” according to investigative journalists.

Replacing Oleksandr Kvatyrko, the Polissya Forestry Office is now led by 43-year-old Sergei Chupryna. He hails from the village of Stepany in the Sarny district. He studied at the National University of Bioresources and Nature Management of Ukraine. He worked as a senior forest master at the Bobrivske Forestry of the Bereziv forestry enterprise. After that, he held positions as a hunting engineer, forest protection engineer, forestry engineer, and chief engineer.

Sergei Chupryna has led the Klevan and Ostkiv forestry enterprises and served as deputy head of the Rafalivka and Kostopil forestry enterprises until he was appointed the first deputy head of the Northwest Interregional Department of Forestry and Hunting. After the former head of the institution, Vitalii Sukhovych, was detained on suspicion of illegal enrichment, Sergei Chupryna became the director of the forestry and hunting management on February 6, 2024.
