In the Ternopil region, the German company Knauf has commenced construction of a new plant for the production of drywall and dry mixtures. The facility will be located near Borshchiv in the Ternopil region, as this area is home to a quarry that the company rents and from which it sources its primary raw materials. The new plant will see an investment of approximately 150 million euros.

Information about the new drywall and dry construction mixtures plant was announced by the Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada on economic policy, Dmytro Kysylevskyi. In his Facebook post, he noted that this will be the second Knauf plant in Ukraine.

“The enterprise will be located in the town of Borshchiv in Ternopil region. The projected capacity of the new production is 30 million m2 of drywall and 320 thousand tons of dry mixtures,” – stated Dmytro Kysylevskyi.
Overall, investments in the project will total around 150 million euros.

Nearby Borshchiv, there is also a gypsum stone quarry that Knauf leases. Currently, the explored reserves of minerals there are sufficient for at least 20 years of operation.
