In vocational education institutions in Lviv region, culinary professions are among the most sought-after in inclusive learning. This was reported by the Department of Education and Science of the Lviv Regional State Administration.
In Lviv region, 99 students with special educational needs (SEN) are receiving education in 14 vocational education institutions.

The chief specialist of the Department of Education and Science of Lviv Regional State Administration, Maria Vasyunik-Kulieva, mentioned that in the 2024-2025 academic year, the number of children with SEN studying in educational institutions in Lviv region has increased to 5,152 (compared to 4,414 in the previous academic year).
“The number of individuals with special educational needs receiving education through inclusive learning in educational institutions of Lviv region is twice as high as those with SEN studying in specialized educational institutions. Since 2016, the number of individuals with SEN in inclusive education in the region has increased 28 times,” notes Maria Vasyunik-Kulieva.

She also reported that among the 47 vocational (technical) education institutions in Lviv region, 39 are partially equipped with barrier-free infrastructure (83%). Only two are fully compliant with accessibility requirements: the Vocational Rehabilitation Boarding School for People with Disabilities in Sambir and the Dobrotvir Professional Lyceum.
