The Vynohradiiv District Court found local resident Yuriy Estinko guilty of violating traffic safety rules, resulting in the death of a victim. For the fatal collision with a 56-year-old woman from the village of Fanchykovo, the driver was sentenced to 4 years in prison, but the court replaced the actual term with 2 years of probation.

The verdict was delivered on December 30. This case concerns an accident that occurred on the evening of January 15, 2020, in the village of Fanchykovo in Transcarpathia. Yuriy Estinko hit a local woman while driving a Fiat Doblo. The woman died at the scene from her injuries.

During the court hearing, the driver admitted his guilt and explained that he was traveling at a speed of 40 km/h with his low beam headlights on. The street was unlit, and he did not see the pedestrian, who was dressed in black.

The court paid particular attention to the fact that the deceased was not wearing any reflective clothing and also considered that the defendant had compensated the victims for the damages incurred, and they had no claims against him.

After reviewing all the case materials, Judge Vasyl Trahnyuk found Yuriy Estinko guilty of violating traffic safety rules, which resulted in the victim's death, and sentenced him to 4 years in prison without deprivation of the right to drive vehicles. The actual term of punishment was replaced with 2 years of probation.
