Vasyl Ratushny, the older brother of activist Roman Ratushny, has died in the war.

On the night of February 27, during a combat mission, drone operator Vasyl Ratushny from the "Birds of Madyar" unit was killed by a direct hit from an FPV drone. This was reported on Friday, February 28, by his mother, Ukrainian writer and journalist Svitlana Povalyaeva.

Vasyl Ratushny was a UAV operator in the "Birds of Madyar" unit. The fighter died as a result of a direct hit from an enemy FPV drone during a combat mission.

“On 27.02.2025, during a combat mission, my son, UAV pilot Vasyl Ratushny, was killed by a direct hit from an FPV drone. My eldest son, my life,” the post states.

In 2022, Povalyaeva lost her younger son – journalist, activist, public figure, and volunteer Roman Ratushny. He was killed on June 9, 2022, while defending the Izium region of Kharkiv.

It is worth noting that both Vasyl and Roman Ratushny were also active participants in the events of the Revolution of Dignity.
