In Sumy region, a 23-year-old man was arrested for attacking a military recruitment officer and a police officer.

The man refused to show his identification, sprayed tear gas, and struck a police officer.

In Shostka, Sumy region, law enforcement officers detained a 23-year-old man who sprayed tear gas in the face of a TCC employee and assaulted a police officer. This was reported by the press service of the National Police.

It was noted that the police and military personnel from the TCC wanted to check the young man's documents; however, he refused to comply with the lawful demands of the law enforcement officers and began to resist.

“The offender used tear gas against the TCC representative and then struck him. During the arrest of the aggressive offender, one of the police officers also sustained bodily injuries,” the statement said.

The police detained the man and initiated criminal proceedings for violence against a law enforcement officer and a public official (part 2 of Article 345 and part 2 of Article 350 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The detained individual faces up to five years in prison.

Recall that Odesa police detained a 28-year-old man who fired several shots at a military personnel from the Territorial Recruitment Center during a document check. The military was hospitalized with injuries.
