A young woman impersonated a soldier from a Lviv brigade and embezzled volunteer funds.

A post about a supposed fundraising for the needs of the 80th Brigade was stumbled upon by the military.
Молодая девушка присвоила волонтерские деньги, выдав себя за военнослужащую львовской бригады.

A young woman posed as a soldier of the 80th Galician Brigade, stationed in Lviv, and, along with an accomplice, embezzled funds that were collected at her request by a volunteer for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This incident was reported on the evening of January 31 by the commander of the fifth company of the 80th Airborne Brigade, Andriy Sushko, on Facebook.

In November, the woman, using the name Diana Andrusiv, approached volunteer Tetiana Hriza and claimed to be a soldier from the 2nd Battalion of the 5th Company of the 80th Airborne Brigade. She requested financial assistance to purchase electronic warfare equipment.

The volunteer raised 112,500 UAH and, at Diana Andrusiv's request, transferred the funds to the card of Danylo Mashivskyi, who later posted what appeared to be a report on the equipment purchase, although the photo only showed an invoice and not a receipt of payment. After this, Diana Andrusiv contacted Tetiana Hriza again, asking for funds to assist the 80th Brigade.

“When I decided to organize the fundraising, I was guided by the fact that she (Diana Andrusiv – ed.) is the niece of a good friend's husband. This automatically created trust, and I had no suspicions,” the volunteer shared on her page.

The volunteer's posts about the fundraising for the fifth company caught the attention of soldiers from that company, who informed their commander, Andriy Sushko.

“Since it was unclear what this collection was for, I inquired among my men if anyone had requested such a collection. It turned out that no one knew this volunteer, and no one had asked for such a collection to be made, nor had anyone received such electronic warfare equipment,” Andriy Sushko recounted on his page.

The military contacted Tetiana Hriza, learned the name of the person who asked her to initiate the fundraising, and found out that neither Diana Andrusiv nor Danylo Mashivskyi had any connection to the Galician Brigade. When the volunteer asked Diana Andrusiv for documents to confirm her military service, including a photo of her military ID, Diana became upset, claiming that “everyone was attacking her for one mistake,” and then went silent.

Andriy Sushko mentioned that Diana Andrusiv’s mother reached out to him.

“A couple of days later, I received a message from Diana's mother, Liudmyla Komarnytska. She apologized for her daughter, spoke about some 'noble intentions of Diana,' and offered to return the funds to resolve the situation and avoid publicity and a criminal case. However, realizing that such proposals wouldn't work because the issue was not just about the money but also about using someone else's name (both mine and the brigade's), she began to subtly threaten me and the brigade, after which I ended that pointless conversation,” Andriy Sushko recounted.

Tetiana Hriza stated that she had filed a report with the police regarding the embezzlement of 112,000 UAH by the young individuals, and the 61,000 UAH she managed to collect during the second fundraising was transferred to the official account of the 80th Airborne Brigade, as confirmed by Andriy Sushko.

Tetiana Hriza also posted photos of Diana Andrusiv and Danylo Mashivskyi, as well as a photo that Diana Andrusiv claimed was a report for the purchased electronic warfare equipment.

The invoice indicates that the goods are sold by an individual entrepreneur, Volodymyr Moskvytskyi, registered in the Kherson region.
