In Shepetivka, a 33-year-old local resident was uncovered for setting fire to military vehicles and administrative buildings on behalf of Russia. She faces up to 10 years in prison. This was reported by the press service of the regional police on February 4.
According to the investigation, the 33-year-old woman came to the attention of the Russians due to her activity on one of the social networks. For carrying out the arson, the Shepetivka resident was promised assistance in arranging a happy life abroad. To this end, she was asked to complete a trial task: to set fire to the premises of the local government in the city.
“The first target the perpetrator chose was the city council. At night, she broke a window and threw a bottle filled with an incendiary mixture into one of the mayor’s office rooms. Subsequently, the woman planned to continue the series of crimes. However, she was detected and apprehended,” – noted the law enforcement officers.
During a sanctioned search, the arsonist was found with a mobile phone containing detailed instructions from the crime's mastermind regarding the search for a potential target and the method of setting it on fire, as well as components for the flammable mixture that she had purchased to fulfill the order.
The investigators announced charges against the detainee under Part 2 of Article 194 (intentional destruction or damage to someone else's property by way of arson) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The court chose a preventive measure of detention for her. The perpetrator faces up to 10 years in prison.
