The mayor, Oleksandr Senkevych, reported that in Mykolaiv, residents of some homeowners' associations are using electric heaters and air conditioners to heat their apartments in order to save money.

He shared this information during a broadcast on the “Mart” TV channel.

According to him, this decision is made by the residents themselves. While there is no frost, Mykolaiv residents are heating their homes with air conditioners and portable heaters to avoid heating costs.

- We also have houses that chose not to accept heating. This is not a bad thing; mainly, it is homeowners' associations that believe it is easier for them to save. They use portable heaters or air conditioners while it’s not freezing. They do not accept heating, and since the heat is allocated based on internal meters, they are simply saving their residents' money. The residents of the houses make such decisions themselves. We are ready to provide heat to everyone today, - said the mayor.
